The program has different products to let you find the right balance of cost and renewable electricity. Renewable electricity will be certified by purchasing and retiring Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), the accepted legal instrument used to track renewable energy generation and to substantiate claims of renewable energy use. Tax Deduction: The value of the extra 50% MA Class I renewable energy qualifies as a deduction on federal income taxes. Those enrolled in this option will receive a tax contribution letter each January from Green Energy Consumers Alliance, the non-profit that procures the extra renewable electricity.

Products described as Green contain renewable electricity above that required by state law. The additional renewable electricity qualifies for MA Class I designation and comes only from solar, wind, anaerobic digestion and low-impact hydro located within New England. Local refers to New England.

Prices for all products in the ACE program include a $0.001/kWh consultant fee. Program prices apply only to the electricity supply portion of your Eversource electric bill. Delivery charges on your Eversource electric bill are not affected by the Arlington Community Electricity program.

For new Industrial customers and for those customers who have previously opted-out of the program, the Program’s supplier may offer a market rate.


Eversource Basic Service RATES

  • Residential: $0.10753/kWh (July – December 2021)
  • Small Business: $0.09850/kWh (July – December 2021)
  • Large Business/Industrial: $0.12746/kWh (October – December 2021)

Future savings cannot be guaranteed because Eversource’s fixed Basic Service rates change every six months for residential and commercial accounts and every three months industrial accounts.
